It's Ok Thursday!!!

Happy Thursday everyone! So It's been a little while but I'm back again and linking up for ...
Its Ok Thursdays

and today is very very OK!
It's Ok...
That I have exactly 49 days until I graduate from college...
That I haven't found the perfect gifts for my Roomie and one of my best friends who are Graduating with me.
That whatever I get them I will have to buy one of for myself because I just can't not (terrible gift giver right here... i always buy two of everything if it's cute :/)
That as I'm writing this said roomie is playing my favorite country song on her computer in the living room (love the Dixie Chicks)
That I'm going to spend my spring break writing a paper, instead of having one last hoorah with my friends, because if I don't finish this paper than I'll have a whole nother year of hoorahs to go to...
That my coffee mug has graduate to a soup mug the size of my head...
That my so called best friend hasn't called or texted me in months, and I haven't called or texted her either (obviously we can live without one another just fine)...
That since i've been at my school I've made so many wonderful friends!... and I love each and every single one of them...
That I'm on Homecoming Court, representing my Sorority's brother Frat!
and that this picture of me was posted on the school web page for all to see... and on facebook :/

that Homecoming is on Saturday! I can't wait
and Last but not least this is more than ok...

I got my cap and gown yesterday...
Guess who has two thumbs and is Graduating from College!!!!

This Girl!

Just my Opinion...

so please don't criticize me too harshly...
I sometimes think that we (college students as a whole) forget that this world is a scary place, that we aren't as safe as we think we are, and that the world (our worlds) can change in a minute.
And personally I feel like the whole atmosphere of college does a LOT to support us in those beliefs... For the most part throughout our college careers we are safe, we feel safe, we live in a world where reality can't really touch us, especially if we live on campus. We expect to be protected, and for the most part we are.
Now I'm not saying bad things never happen, I think the tragedy last night at Coastal Carolina, and even the events in the past two years near my own school show that quite clearly along with a long list of other tragedies from the past ten years that bad things, terrible things can happen on and around college campuses...
What I am saying is that maybe just maybe we should talk about these things before they happen... not just after.
We change the rules after something bad happens, fight for Gun control after shootings, teach Rape Awareness and Defense classes after students are assaulted, put up Emergency Call Polls and lights after someone gets killed, and warn people to look out for themselves and others only when the danger is immediate, To me this makes NO SENSE!!!!
Why does it take one tragedy to make people prepared for another??? I just don't get this... Why can't we just always be aware that bad things happen?
I'm not saying live in fear, but I truly believe that college students, regardless of how safe your campus is, how small, how large, or where it is located, should be aware and prepared in case something bad does happen, we should be talking about these tragedies now about how to prevent them, how to make our schools and campuses safer, BEFORE tragedy strikes... NOT after.
That's just my little rant for the evening... Hope you guys still love me after :)

Big News...

Totally kidding guys... i didn't get into Harvard, I didn't even apply there I just LOVE this shirt
We're talking LIFE CHANGERS today on the blog :)
I'm super excited to share some amazing/wonderful/scary/thrilling news with my lovely blog fam!
A week or so ago (here) I mentioned on here that I had gotten a letter that I was really excited about and that I would tell you all about that soon... well soon is here :) That letter was my official acceptance letter to law school, but not just any law school! It was my acceptance letter to the law school of my dreams :) I think every little girl who grew up a Carolina Fan secretly wants to attend this school at some point in their life, I applied to the Undergraduate program four years ago and wasn't accepted but since then I've attended two wonderful colleges, worked hard, and studied even harder and a few months ago I sent off my second application to the University of South Carolina, this time for the USC school of Law and I got in! After months of questioning if Law School was for me, and sweating if I was even good enough to get into my top school I got my acceptance letter in the mail {complete with request for $500.00 of course right, hey we love you... by the way send us money}
After some debate and lots of prayer, I know that USC Law is the place for me and I am happy to tell you all that in August I will be moving to Columbia SC!!! Watch out state capital me and R are on our way! Oh and just so you know, Lindsay,Paige, and Mackenzie get ready because I'm thinking that since I'll be so close seeing you girls on the regular is a must... Besides I'll need some natives to show me around my new town :)
I couldn't be more excited right now if I tried! and to you all my lovely blog readers! I'm so excited to say that I'm gonna take you with me, I can't wait for Peace, Love, Passion Law School Edition!
Peace, Love, Passion {for the law, for law school, for moving forward}

Sunday Social #5

Happy Sunday Loves... hope you've all had a good weekend, a great week, and a happy Valentines day...
Whew... that was a LOT in one sentence :)
It's Sunday, and that Means it's time for
Sunday Social
and this week the questions are all about VD you know Valentines Day...
1. Best Valentines Day you’ve ever had
Best Valentines ever... I was six years old and my mom and I had just moved here. She gave me a stuffed bear with a box of candy and a Red ribbon tied around his neck. I named him Maxwell, and called him Max or Maxie for short. He's still sitting on my bed... watching me as I type this :). That is my best one, but i've had a lot of great ones since R. and I have been together.
2. Worst Valentines Day you’ve ever had
I can't honestly think of a Valentines that has ever been particularly terrible, with the exception of 9th grade. Which was the last time I was single on Valentines day. I just remember spending it wishing that I had someone to buy candy, or a card for. But It wasn't even that bad because I still got to wear pink, and be cute so that helped alot.
3. What do you plan on doing for Valentines this year?
Welll... since It was Thursday :) We had breakfast at a local fave. exchanged cards and gifts and I went to school. Basically it.
4. Best Valentines Idea if you’re single
Not single... but going to the movies, or out with friends is a lot of fun if you are... but for the love of all things DO NOT CALL IT SINGLES AWARENESS DAY... I prefer Awesome on My Own Day...
5. Favorite Valentines Candy?
Chocolate
6. Favorite Valentines Memory from your childhood
the same one as the second question :)

My Research Field Trip... and winner of Yesterdays give away

Like a good little history major I recently undertook a little bit of a research trip of my own. It was a lot of fun for me to go to another school and use their resources, especially since working in the library at my school has made me really familiar with my own school's resources and every once in a while you get the urge to explore something different...
Well I do at least!
I had a great time pouring through the archives at Converse College, and if you've never checked out this school, well you're missing out... after I was done researching... well during as well, I took a few pictures
Because lets face it my mom is a photographer... and It kinda is a common thing in my family to just snap pictures of everything :) so here are some pictures from my trip to Converse College...

Second Order of Business... I know you all are dying to know who won my giveaway yesterday... and what they will be receiving... well lets start with the what...

The lucky winner will be receiving this BEAUTIFUL bracelet with love... from Peace, Love, Passion :)
Drum Roll Please... and the winner is.... The only person who entered my giveaway
Miss Lindsay from over at Every Day Life!
Congrats Lindsay! I love you and I just know you're going to love this bracelet

Be Mine {Giveaway}...

Hey loves! So it's February 14th... aka Valentines Day... aka Singles Awareness Day
(which I would like to point out needs to be given another name since SAD also happens to be the akronym for Social Axiety Disorder ... just saying I would recomend Awesome on My Own Day {AMOD}, or I Love Me Day {ILMD}, or my personal favorite, I Love to Include Everyone Day {ILIED} think about that one for a minute... the akronym is kinda funny)
Little rant aside, I always loved Valentines Day, (even when I wasn't with R), It's a wonderful day to celebrate Love in general, a holiday invented by a card company can still be a special day!
When I was younger {by that I mean until senior year of high school btw} I would get up early on Valentines day and get my outfit together, something pink and special that made me happy, get my Valentines together and head to school :) no lies I did this every year for such a long time that I kinda miss it now that I don't have the same group of friends and people.
Since R and I have been together we've never spent a Valentines apart, and tomorrow will be the first, He has work I have school, so we won't be going out or anything :(... So I've decided that you guys will be my Valentines :)
Starting now, and going until midnight tonight I will be hosting a special Valentine's give away! and since there aren't too many of you guys then Odds are in your favor.
Here's what you do...
1) Follow my blog :) (I will be checking and If you don't do this you can't win.)
2) Go like the Peace, Love, Passion FB page here.
3) Follow me on Twitter here... oh and tweet about the give away for an extra entry 3) Comment on this post one time for each thing... telling me you did items 1-4 (if you follow and tweet), then tell me What your best/worst/funniest/craziest valentines memory is???
I will choose the winner Randomly using the Random number Generator... and Let ya'll know who wins tomorrow... oh and what they won becasuse this little gifty is a surprise and... well I can't tell you till you enter
Love you guys with all my heart!
Love Always, Tesla :)

Keep me accountable...

Hey loves! So yesterday was Mardi Gras, which means today is Ash Wednesday and if you're like me and observe Lent the 40 days between today and Easter then today is the day you give up something. You may remember last year I posted about this??? If not the link is here, and I'm proud to say that I was actually able to give up being jealous for lent, but it came right back, the others well those were much harder and I am ashamed to say that I didn't do very well.
This year however I decided to give up things for the betterment of myself, I chose three things that I don't need in my life, and replacing them with things I do.
This year there are Three:
1. Television - for the next 40 days I will not watch TV, not even the news. Instead of spending my free time watching TV i intend to spend it first in the word, and then working on dedicating myself to my other commitments (School, Sorority, family, friends.) Because I feel that the amount of time i spend watching TV, especially on the weekends is sad and I could better spend it doing almost anything else.
2. Soda's - in reality this one is just because I really need to break the bad habit i've gotten into of turning to sodas for my caffeine fix. They are really bad for me :( so for the next 40 days (and hopefully long after than) it's coffee and green tea for me...
3. Bread - this is one that I have done since high school, and It's a huge sacrifice for me {I have three main food groups and Bread is the biggest followed distantly by veggies and sweets :)} so giving up bread for me was always a huge sacrifice, something that made me miserable for almost the entire 40 days.
I love you guys! And I'm depending on the people I love to help me stay accountable! If you see me go for that remote slap it out of my hands, if i reach for that cheeseburger slap that out to... just saying I need help :)
What about ya'll what are you giving up? And who's keeping you accountable??

Sunday Social #4

Hey everybody! Hope you've all had a wonderful week! I know i've had a rough one but this coming week is going to be a million times better because Friday afternoon I am leaving for a, hopefully relaxing, weekend in the mountains with my sisters! and I could not be more excited... as for today however it's Sunday again! and that means time to link up for
Sunday Social
This week the questions were fun for me... i like reminiscing!
1. What was your first car?
My first car that I drove was a 1995 Pontiac Grand Am that had been my step dad's and was given to me to drive when I got my license. However it wasn't really mine. My stepdad owned it and I just put gas in it. The first car was in my name, was my 2002 Ford Focus that recently blew it's engine up, however i didn't pay for that car either my grandparents gave me the money to pay for it so i wouldn't really consider it Mine... more theirs and i just drove it. Now I have a 2010 Carolla... which is the first car I've bought with my own money and made payments on, and the only one that i've ever actually considered mine... sooo really i've had three first cars :)
2. Who was your favorite childhood teacher?
Hmmm... this is a tough one. I had a lot of great teachers, but my favorite would have to be my 7th grade science teacher Mr. Vial. He was an amazing teacher and I learned so much from him.
3. Were you involved in any sports/extracurricular activities? Share pictures if you can!
Yeppers... i was a Cheerleader in middle school and played soccer in elementary and middle school, I also did Strings, Chorus, and Academic Team in middle school and Sports Medicine in high school...
4. What was your favorite birthday party?
Considering that i have only ever had two, it would have to be my 16th birthday. My parents threw me a pool party at the community pool, lots of people came, and I felt like I had friends for the first time in a while.
5. Who was your teen celebrity crush?
I never really had one... I tended to get real people crushes...
6. What show/movie did your parents not allow you to watch?
I don't think there were any. My parents have always been pretty ok with my judgement on things like that. I have always been a horror movie, and true crime tv show junkie so i think my parents were just like "what ev's she's gonna do what she's gonna do"

A Day... scratch that, Week in the Life...

Let me start out with a little exciting news... This lil lady has submitted her application to gradaute, paid all her fees, and finished all her fine arts credtis so that the only thing standing between me and gradation is a C or higher in all my classes :) Not that I'm ok with C's but at least I know the pressure is off a teensy bit {very teensy but any relief is something}
I know we're all super busy this time of year, especially those of us who are graduating in April... these last 2 months, 2 weeks, and 2 days are going to be so filled with stuff that they are going to be the death of me I just know it... but I got to thinking the other day about how ridiculous my weekly schedule is that I decided that I would share a little glimpse of it with you guys :)
So here it goes...
Monday February 4
Get up... 5:30 am, make lunch and eat a quick breakfast
Gym at 6:00, cardio, abs, weights. Shower at 7:30 or 8:00 depending on how long Gym took, have a snack :) Work from 9:00 am - 11:30 am Lunch and Research Block until 1:50 (This basically means I would have free time if it weren't for the fact that this semester is seminar so i spend this time in the library researching for my paper) World War One Class from 1:50 - 3:20 but that got cancelled today, so instead i did an online assignment Shopping trip for homecoming supplies with the Activities Director :) Dinner Miss Lander Pageant to cheer on my friend Lindsay... normally i would be at work and then the gym during this time Sigma Meeting 9:00 - whenever that ends but usually 10:30 Homework and pray that I can get in bed by midnight and succeed in getting in bed but not without failing to complete some homework:(
Tuesday February 5
Tuesday's and Thursday's are usually nice because I get to sleep in a little bit since I don't work mornings :)
THat was not the case today... thank you test :( Wake up 6:30 am, breakfast, check email finish homework/studying for Philosophy test i have this morning.Leave for school around 9:15 so I can get a decent parking spot near the library
Stop by said library to print an article and do some last minute studying... and maybe snap a pic of my outfit in the br mirror (not ashamed, I don't exactly have people lining up to photograph my OOTD for this blog)
9:45 - Class (Philosophy Test... eek)and snack
11:30 - Warfare .... snore
1:00 - 3:00 i get a lunch break before Modern China from 3:00 - 4:30 (and again snore), Work 5:00 - 8:00 Go home and do homework until bed... which tonight consisted of reading an entire book, writing a paper on it, reading an article and answering questions about it, reading a chapter in our WWI source book and doing a Primary Source Worksheet on it, oh and attempting to begin studying for my Warfare test on Thurs... (sounds so fun doesn't it)
OH and I got a very exciting letter that I will be telling you about soon.
Wednesday February 6,{AKA heck day... the worst day of the week was literally a terrible day}
Woke up at 6:30 am after having gone to bed at 3:00 that morning. Went to work at 9, class at 1:50, and then home to cook Tacos... for my night class which went terribly! I burned the taco meat, people complained, Tesla got mad.
Then after class we had the homecoming committee meeting and I had to study for a test so another late night :/
Thursday February 7
Today didn't suck half as bad as the rest of the week... because slacker that I am, i only went to one of my three classes... the one i had a test in. I skipped the rest, went home and cleaned my room and then spent the evening with my rooms and a friend... all in all not bad day... but one that ended with Cookout at One am (if you don't know what cook out is you need to)
Friday February 8,
another not so bad day! Because i don't have classes on fridays :)Work from 9 to 11:30, then drove almost two hours to another college to do research for my Seminar paper, which I really want to change the topic on BTW!
After a couple hours of research I went to my Grandparents house for a while before finally heading back home... which is where i am now... home waiting on R. to get here so I can see him at least for a few hours before he has to be back at work and i have to dive headfirst into the pile of homework that Is eagerly awaiting me... goody :) So that's a week in my life... a pretty typical one anyway :)

That Time I actually...

Made recipes off of pinterest:)
Sunday I sat down, planned out my meals for the weke, wrote them all down, bought the necessary ingredients and then made two recipes off pinterest that will last me a few days (the Breakfast muffins I made enough for five days breakfasts, and the sausage and greenbeans will probably last me three days worth of dinners)
Pinned Here These don't look anything like the picture but they taste fantastic! The only thing i would modify is adding a little salt and pepper... they were kinda bland for my taste :)
Pinned Here This was a major success... i didn't use potatoes which probably is why it was kinda greasy. But i love the green beans and sausage together. I added mushrooms to give it a little extra substance. But those need to be cooked first and then added. Otherwise they get very chewy :)
Hope you will all try these out at home... and enjoy!
Peace Love and Passion,

Sunday Social # 3

Hey everyone... happy sunday again! Hope you all had a wonderful week last week! And a will have a good week this week :)Time for another round of ...
Sunday Social
1. If you were stuck on an island what are the two material items you would want to have?
I would have to have my phone, so I could at least see/talk to my family and R. {not to mention blog from my blogger app :)}, and I would want to have my purple and teal flowered cup with the straw, so if there was fresh water i would be able to drink it out of a cup.
2. What are two TV shows you’d watch over and over
Greek, and One Tree Hill
3. If your house was on fire what two things aside from family, pets, etc would you grab?
My pocketbook {because all my important documents are in it} and my pictures because they are the one thing in my house that i couldn't bear to loose.
4. What are your two most favorite articles of clothing?
My Lilly Pulitzer top, and my old navy rockstart jeans in red.
5. What two movies that you saw in the past year would you recommend to us?
Sinister and Silent House {yes I know they are both scary movies. But that's what I like and I would recommend them to anyone who wants a typical horror flick with a foreseeable ending (Sinister) or a strange badly shot movie with a heck of a plot twist (Silent House)}
6. What are your two biggest guilty pleasures?
Hmmmm... my biggest guilty pleasures would have to be eating sweets, especially chocolate, and watching True Blood (which I totally count as a guilty pleasure because it's probably not something I should be watching.)
Peace, Love, and Passion
