Wedding Wednesday... Planning and Panic

Hi there everyone . . . Happy Hump Day! and Welcome to my second Wedding Wednesday and to start what will be an absurdly long count down today is 290 days until I say I Do!
To say I'm excited to marry my sweet guy would be the understatement of the millennium! I've been waiting for a long time to marry the boy I fell in love with in High school. But had I known wedding planning was this stressful I would have maybe not decided to get married the summer after my first year of law school. Planning a wedding while trying to learn Torts, Contracts, Criminal Law, and Legal Writing, in addition to keeping up with my social media is a daunting task. For the first time in my life I might actually be overwhelmed! SO for this wedding wednesday I will be focusing on the wonderful things that we have already accomplished in planning our big day!
#1. We booked a beautiful venue for a beautiful price.
#2. We found a photographer who is local, fabulous, and takes the most amazing pictures.
#3. Picked a theme and colors . . . and
#4. Chosen the people who mean the most to us in the whole world and asked them to stand beside us on our big day!
I know it's not a long list, but it's a good start at the least! Now if I could just find bridesmaids dresses that aren't ugly, expensive, or trashy... that one my loves might take some time! Suggestions would be appreciated :) I'll leave you with a little snip-it of our wedding inspiration (pictures courtesy of Pinterest)

"Fair" to Midlin...

This past weekend was fabulous! As usual I was ridiculously busy but I also got to have some fun Saturday night which made being busy all weekend worth it!
Friday and Saturday I spent most of the day working on my closed memo for my legal writing class, when I wasn't at school being a witness for Mock Trial which is possibly the coolest thing I've ever been a part of in my whole life.
For those of you who don't know, Mock Trial is a competition for law students that gives them an opportunity to practice being a lawyer in a court room. It's really cool and I can't wait until my 2L year when I can compete rather than simply being a witness!
USC's internal competition was this past weekend and everyone was amazing! I can't wait to see who will be competing in the external competitions.
After about six hours of fake court over two days I got to go to my first ever fair. The South Carolina State Fair is in town and being new to Columbia I couldn't not go. R and i just had the best time. We rode the Giant wheel, ate super bad for us food, and I rode the Sky Ride, which is basically a chair lift that goes across the entire fair! It was amazing... just to give you a little taste of how awesome the fair is here are some pics . . . I'll be posting a video once I figure out how to make it work on here :)
Enjoy! Love Tesla

AHHHHH..... Finally!

Happy Wednesday Loves! I am so excited to finally have enough free time to write a little bit that i'm about to burst! I've missed my outlet something fierce! I am doubly excited because today is Wednesday... and as a newly engaged woman, who is busy planning a wedding I figured what better time than now to do my first ever Wedding Wednesday post! Made even more exciting by the fact that today is Wednesday October the 9th, and ten months from today I will be walking down the aisle to my handsome fiance and finally get to call him mine forever!
That's a lot to be excited about, and a lot to be thankful for!
I figured there was no better way to start off my Wedding Wednesday posts than to tell you all the whole (and by whole I mean True) story about our engagement, and It never hurts to have these things written down somewhere just in case I ever forget(not likely but hey stranger things have happened).
For the past seven years R and I have been together, and any time his family goes on a vacation I'm almost always invited. This year was no different, his family planned their annual beach vacation for August 3 - 10 and I was going to get to go for the entire time which I was super excited about! R however wasn't as lucky, at first we didn't think he was going to get to go at all, but at the last minute he decided that he and I would head down to Myrtle the night before everyone else, when he got off work. So we left out on August 2nd and headed for the beach planning to get there early enough to hang out on the beach that night and of course something always goes wrong and we didn't get there as early as we thought. We found a motel for the night and got up early the next morning to get breakfast and enjoy our day at the beach before everyone else got there.
As is our beach tradition we had breakfast at the IHOP on Kings Highway, and then after breakfast i begged Ridge to drive us out to Pawley's Island (for those who don't know it's a town about twenty minutes from MB)so we got in the car and headed there!

When we got into the town and drove up to the beach parking lot. We walked on the beach, took lots of pictures, held hands... you know all that couple stuff that couples do and then after about forty-five minutes we headed back to the car. We pulled out of the parking lot and were headed back to the North Causeway when he reaches across me and opens the glove compartment and pulls out some paperwork. He looks at me, hands me the paperwork and says "here you're gonna need this." I just looked at him, and asked him "why" i can remember thinking where did he get zales paperwork and why do I need it. At which point he reaches across me again, pulls a box out the glove compartment and hands it to me. Without a word just hands me the box. I sit there for a few more minutes and he stops the car and says "aren't you going to open it?", I looked at the box, wondering what i could be (because I apparently am an idiot but that is another post for another time) and then it hits me. I start tearing up as I realize what's in the box. I open it and the most beautiful ring I have ever seen is sitting there just looking at me. I of course start to cry.

I look at him, he looks at me and in typical R fashion he says "well?" no question, no nothing just a "well?". I said yes of course and we kissed and then we drove back to Myrtle Beach to meet up with his family.
Looking back on it all now It wasn't the proposal i'd dreamed of, and to this day he hasn't actually said the words "will you marry me?" but I realize now that for us it was perfect. There are no pictures and he admitted to me later it wasn't how he planned it, heck the ring didn't even fit, but for us it was on par with the rest of our lives together. A nontraditional proposal for the girl who asked her boyfriend out after football practice one day, for the couple who never cared what other people thought about them being together, and the boy who never did anything by the book in his life. Our engagement story is just that... OURS and it is as unique and special to me as he is.
Much like everything else in my life, it may not have been what I expected but it was exactly right for us!
Until Next time my Loves!
Stay Fabulous and lets try to keep it legal :)

Day's like today...

Most of the time I feel like I'm totally drowning in work! Every day there is just more to do, more contracts to read, more torts to brief, more crim law to study, more housework to do, more meals to cook, and more wedding planning to do than could ever possibly be completed. On those days I sit down, I cry a little,I pour myself a glass of Moscato, and get back to work because it doesn't matter if there is more to do, i've got to get it all done, and none of it can wait (with the exception of wedding planning which I have been totally slack on since we found our venue and photographer)so I do it all anyway
and then on days like today when I'm not drowning because I only have two classes and an insane break I take the time to blog and that makes me feel better. On days like today I get on pinterest and day dream, I get on facebook and laugh, and I get on reddit and laugh so hard I think I'm going to pee. On days like today I go out to lunch with my fiance, and forget about the real world for a minute. I facetime my mom and talk about everything that's been going on, and see how big their new puppy has gotten. Day's like today make me ok with the days where I can't breathe because the weight of life is just crushing me... days like today make the difference and days like today keep me sane!
Just for bearing with my here's some things that should make your day a little brighter (especially any of you law students out there).
Love and hugs!
